102-Year-Old War Hero Zinaida Gladilina Honored by Governor
Zinaida Gladilina, a 102-year-old war veteran, was celebrated on her birthday by Veniamin Kondratyev, Governor of Krasnodar Region. During the Great Patriotic War, she served as a senior sergeant in the Soviet Airborne Forces, ensuring constant communication between units as a radio operator.
Gladilina's military career began in the 2nd Ukrainian Front. She was deployed in this strategic area, playing a crucial role in maintaining communication lines. Her dedication and skill earned her the Order of the Patriotic War, 2nd Class, and other medals.
After the war, Gladilina continued her service in the postal service's communication division until her retirement. She met Victory Day in May 1945 in Austria, marking the end of her active military service.
