11 charged after brutal sword attack on brothers in Ranayara village

Police in Alot have filed a case against 11 individuals for a violent attack on two brothers in Ranayara village. The victims, Dashrath Singh and Narayan, were allegedly ambushed with swords and sticks. Four of the accused are relatives of the village sarpanch, raising concerns over local interference in the investigation.

The incident began when Rampal Patidar, acting on behalf of Sukhdev Patidar—the son of Ranayara's sarpanch—summoned Dashrath Singh and his brother Narayan to a field. Upon arrival, Sukhdev and a group of relatives and associates confronted them. Sukhdev then struck Narayan on the head with a sword, accusing him of filing complaints about panchayat work.

Dashrath Singh tried to intervene but was also injured in the scuffle. Narayan received initial medical aid in the village before being transferred to Ratlam for further treatment. The local Panchayat organisation has faced criticism for allegedly shielding the attackers and delaying police action. Authorities have registered an FIR for assault and attempted fatal injury against all 11 accused.

The case now rests with the police as investigations continue. Narayan remains under medical care in Ratlam, while Dashrath Singh recovers from his injuries. The involvement of the sarpanch's family has added pressure on officials to ensure a thorough and impartial probe.
