12 Innovators Vie for Energy Efficiency Award 2025 in Berlin
Twelve innovative companies have been nominated for the prestigious Energy Efficiency Award (EEA) this year. These businesses were chosen from over 100 applicants for their pioneering actions in energy transition and climate protection. The winners will receive a video showcasing their achievement, and a special prize for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) is endowed with 5,000 euros. All nominees will receive a digital label, with selected projects earning a good practice seal.
The EEA jury, comprising high-ranking representatives from politics, business, science, and media, will decide the winners in four categories: use of renewable energies, digitalization and cooperation, decarbonization of high-temperature process heat, and use of waste heat. The nominated companies in each category are a mix of renowned and lesser-known enterprises, including MAHLE GmbH, Pöppelmann GmbH & Co. KG, and the University of Kassel.
The EEA is supported by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Energy (BMWE) and KfW as a premium partner. The award ceremony will take place on November 3 in Berlin during the Energy Transition Congress. Notably, the winner of the SME special prize category will be decided by public vote, with no information currently available about the winners in this category for the Energy Efficiency Awards 2025.
The Energy Efficiency Award continues to recognize and celebrate businesses driving progress in energy transition and climate protection. With a diverse range of nominees and categories, the EEA highlights the breadth and innovation of sustainability efforts in Germany.
