12-Year-Old Boy Critically Injured After Tram Collision in Berlin
A 12-year-old boy was seriously injured in a traffic accident in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg. The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. on Bornholmer Straße when the child was hit by an M13 tram. He was crossing at a marked pedestrian crossing at the time of the collision.
The boy attempted to cross the street when the tram struck him. The 62-year-old driver tried to brake but could not stop in time to avoid the collision. Emergency services rushed the child to hospital with head and upper-body injuries, where he remains for inpatient treatment.
The boy remains in hospital after sustaining injuries from the tram collision. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the accident. Further details are expected as the inquiry progresses.
