16,000 Wreaths Donated to Honor Veterans at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery
Nearly 16,000 wreaths have already been donated to honour veterans at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois. The campaign, led by Wreaths Across America, aims to place wreaths on the graves of over 80,000 veterans buried there. Organisers are now urging the public to contribute before the deadline passes.
Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery is home to the graves of more than 80,000 veterans. Each year, Wreaths Across America coordinates the effort to place holiday wreaths on as many of these graves as possible. This year, the group has set a donation target to cover every resting place.
The donated wreaths will be placed on veterans’ graves in time for the holiday season. With over 80,000 graves at the cemetery, further contributions are still needed. Anyone wishing to participate can make a purchase online before the Thanksgiving deadline.
