20-Year-Old Arrested for Drunk Driving After Erratic Hagen Morning Drive
A 20-year-old man from Hagen was stopped for drunk driving in the early hours of Sunday, March 15. Police intervened after noticing his erratic behaviour behind the wheel on Frankfurter Straße just after 6:10 a.m.
The driver was spotted making unstable steering movements in his Opel. He swerved repeatedly to the left and failed to stay within his lane. Officers observed the vehicle before it unexpectedly pulled over on Hochstraße, even though no signal had been given.
The man showed clear signs of intoxication upon inspection. His eyes appeared glassy, his speech was slurred, and his conjunctiva were visibly reddened. A strong smell of alcohol was also detected, prompting a breathalyzer test. The reading exceeded 1.2 per mille, well above the legal limit.
Authorities immediately confiscated his driver's licence and took him to the police station. A blood sample was collected for further analysis. Criminal charges for drunk driving were filed, and he was barred from continuing his journey.
The incident marks a serious traffic violation in Hagen, with the driver now facing legal consequences. His licence remains suspended as the investigation continues. No further details about the case have been released at this time.
