2026 Youth Festival in Yekaterinburg Unites 47 Countries for Cultural Exchange

The 2026 International Youth Festival in Yekaterinburg is drawing global interest, with 47 countries now confirmed to take part. Organisers recently held a video conference linking young people from Russia's Ural region and Morocco to discuss cultural exchanges ahead of the event.

The festival, scheduled for September 11–17, will feature contributions from nations including China, India, Brazil, and South Africa, alongside European and Asian participants.

Governor Denis Pasler met with the regional working group to review preparations for the festival. Discussions included cultural programmes and logistical planning for the week-long event.

During the video conference, Maria Gevorgyan, director of the Sverdlovsk Regional Youth Center, welcomed participants and shared greetings from Denis Protasov, head of the regional youth policy department. The session highlighted collaborative ideas, such as Morocco's proposal to host a traditional tea ceremony and co-organise an academic conference.

Young artists from the Urals have also been invited to submit designs for a festival mural. The best concepts, chosen through a public vote in June, will be professionally refined and displayed during the event.

The Ural delegation additionally presented the work of the International Friendship Club, launched in September 2024. The club promotes Russian language and culture, attracting over 1,500 attendees each year.

The festival will bring together diverse cultural activities, from art installations to academic discussions. With participation from nearly 50 countries, the event aims to strengthen international youth connections through shared creative and educational experiences.
