3 Severely Injured in Labbeck Campsite Accident; Firefighters Assist in Rescue
Three people were severely injured in a campsite accident in Labbeck. The Labbeck unit of the Volunteer Fire Department responded, assisting in the transfer of patients to helicopters and illuminating a landing area.
The incident involved two night-capable intensive transport helicopters (ITH) that landed to transport the injured. Two patients were airlifted to specialist clinics in the Ruhr area, while a third was taken to another hospital by ambulance.
The Labbeck unit, with around 16 personnel, was on site until approximately 23:45. They played a crucial role in the operation, assisting in transferring patients and ensuring a safe landing area for the rescue helicopters. Several ambulances and emergency doctor vehicles from the districts of Wesel and Kleve were also involved in the response.
