5,000 Euros for good ideas: Rotary Club Fürth awards new cohesion prize
The Rotary Club of Fürth has launched a new award to support local social projects. Called the Rotary Social Award, it replaces two previous honours—the Senior Citizens’ Award and the Family Award—with a single €5,000 prize. The first ceremony will take place on March 3, 2026, at the Fürth City Theater.
The club is shifting its focus to address pressing societal issues. Eligible projects must tackle challenges like strengthening democracy, fostering inclusion, integrating refugees, preventing violence, or promoting responsible social media use. Initiatives that boost social cohesion through arts and culture are also welcome.
Applications are open to projects based in Fürth city or the surrounding district. Interested groups or individuals must submit their entries by February 8, 2026. Submissions should be sent via email to *[email protected]*. The award will be presented every two years. Current club president **Christian Fritsche** announced the changes during a charity art auction on November 25, 2025. The restructuring aims to streamline support for community-driven efforts in the region.
The €5,000 prize will recognise outstanding contributions to social cohesion. Winners will be honoured at the Fürth City Theater in March 2026. The club’s updated approach reflects a broader commitment to addressing modern societal needs.
