500 Kilograms of Cocaine Found in Banana Boxes - 500 Kilos of Cocaine Found Hidden in Banana Boxes at German Discount Stores
A major drug bust has taken place across northern Germany, with over 500 kilograms of cocaine discovered hidden in banana boxes at multiple discount store locations. The find was made by employees during goods receipt on November 10, 2025.
The cocaine was found at branches of a discount supermarket chain in Lübeck and its surrounding districts, as well as in Hamburg. The discovery has led to a joint investigation by Hamburg’s customs investigation unit and Lübeck’s criminal police. Despite extensive searches, no specific suspect or organization has been identified as responsible for the smuggling operation. Investigations are ongoing to trace the source of the drugs and apprehend those involved.
The discovery of such a large quantity of cocaine in discount stores raises serious concerns about the extent of drug trafficking in the region. The joint task force is working diligently to unravel the case and bring those responsible to justice.
