58 Local Groups in Fürth District Receive €13,000 in Community Support

The third edition of the LEADER project Wunschliste gewünscht has brought support to 58 clubs and local initiatives in the Fürth district. Organised by the Lokale Aktionsgruppe (LAG) Landkreis Fürth e.V., the campaign fulfilled dozens of requests with funding totalling over €13,000. This year, the initiative expanded to include not just formal associations but also informal groups and Bavarian chapters across the region.

In late October 2025, the LAG received over 130 requests from local organisations. Members then selected 58 beneficiaries, with wishes ranging from practical items like vacuum cleaners and sand toys to larger needs such as a used car trailer, a winter linden tree, and even a Knoten-Jupp. The total value of fulfilled requests exceeded €7,000.

The campaign was backed by €3,000 from the LAG itself, with additional contributions of €2,000 each from Sparkasse Fürth and the Landkreis Foundation, plus €6,000 from the Stein Business Association. This funding model allowed the initiative to go beyond its usual large-scale projects, offering small but meaningful grants to ease daily operations for local groups.

A festive handover ceremony took place in the foyer of the Zirndorf District Office, led by key figures including Kurt Krömer, First Mayor of Stein and LAG Deputy Chair, Kai Tusak, board member of Sparkasse Fürth and LAG treasurer, and the LAG management team, Heike Maria Deyhle and Patrick Schubert. District Administrator Bernd Obst, who chairs the LAG, emphasised that the campaign was designed to recognise the essential work of clubs and their contributions to society.

Unlike the LAG's traditional funding programmes, Wunschliste gewünscht focuses on quick, direct support for minor investments. The initiative aligns with the LAG's broader mission of sustainable rural development under the motto Citizens Shape Their Homeland, reinforcing community engagement across the district.

The 2025 edition of Wunschliste gewünscht provided tangible help to 58 local groups, from equipment to small infrastructure improvements. With funding from multiple partners, the campaign reinforced its role as a flexible complement to the LAG's larger projects. The selected organisations now benefit from resources that will support their ongoing activities in the community.
