66-Year-Old Severely Burned in Neukölln Fire; Negligence Suspected
Emergency services responded to a fire in Neukölln last night, where a 66-year-old resident was severely burned and rushed to hospital. Firefighters performed CPR before the victim was taken away for treatment.
The blaze was discovered around 4:20 a.m. on Kirchhofstraße, with a local resident reporting seeing smoke and hearing a fire alarm. Upon arrival, firefighters found a room fully engulfed in flames and the unconscious victim near the apartment's entrance. No other injuries were reported.
Preliminary investigations suggest the fire may have been caused by negligence. The case has been passed to the arson unit of the State Criminal Police Office for further inquiry.
