71-Year-Old Asleep in Car After Police Chase Discovered - 71-Year-Old Driver Leads Wild Police Chase on German Motorway
A 71-year-old driver sparked a dramatic police chase on the A7 motorway near Hildesheim. The incident began when officers tried to stop the man for a routine check, only for him to speed away with his headlights switched off.
The chase started after police signalled for the motorist to pull over. Instead of stopping, he accelerated and made a reckless U-turn on the motorway. Officers pursued him as he headed toward Kassel at high speed.
Despite an extensive search, authorities lost track of the driver and his vehicle. Hours later, the car was discovered parked on a sidewalk along Federal Highway 6. The elderly man was found asleep at the wheel.
The incident ended without further confrontation once the driver was located. Police have not yet released details on potential charges or the man's condition. The case remains under investigation.
