Tram Hits Cyclist in Hellersdorf - 76-year-old cyclist critically injured in Berlin tram collision
A serious accident occurred in Berlin's Hellersdorf district this morning, November 5, 2025. A 76-year-old cyclist was severely injured after colliding with a tram on the M6 line. Despite the driver's emergency braking, the collision could not be prevented.
The incident took place near Jerichowstraße. The cyclist was attempting to cross the tracks on a pedestrian path when the collision occurred. The tram, driven by a 36-year-old man, was unable to stop in time.
The collision resulted in serious injuries for the cyclist, a 76-year-old man. Inside the tram, a 60-year-old passenger sustained minor injuries due to the sudden stop. The tram line section was temporarily closed to allow emergency services to attend to the scene.
The accident is currently under investigation. The M6 line section in Hellersdorf has since reopened. Both the cyclist and the passenger are receiving medical treatment. The driver of the tram is being supported by local authorities.
