83-Year-Old with Dementia Vanishes in Berlin After E-Bike Ride
An 83-year-old man with dementia has gone missing in Berlin after disappearing on Thursday, September 5, 2024. Police are asking the public for help in locating Hans-Joachim Pfeiffer, who was last seen riding a blue e-bike along Wendenschlossstraße.
Pfeiffer was accompanied by his wife earlier that day but became separated at a Shell gas station near number 292. He was last spotted heading southbound on a blue women's Kalkhoff e-bike, which had a black saddle bag attached. At the time, he wore a blue bicycle helmet, a blue-and-white checked shirt, dark grey three-quarter-length pants, and blue athletic shoes.
The missing man is described as 175–180 cm tall with a slim build, short dark blonde hair, and grey streaks. Authorities have confirmed he requires medication and may be disoriented due to his condition. Berlin's Criminal Investigation Division 3 (East) is leading the search, though no updates have been shared on official police or public channels.
No further details about the ongoing manhunt have been released.
The search for Pfeiffer continues as police urge anyone with information to come forward. His family and authorities remain concerned due to his medical needs and the time elapsed since his disappearance. The public is asked to report any sightings immediately.
