87-Year-Old Wheelchair User Hospitalized After Berlin Traffic Collision
On November 8, 2025, a 62-year-old man driving an Opel on the Senftenberger Ring in Berlin collided with an 87-year-old man in a wheelchair. The accident, which occurred around 12:15 p.m., resulted in the wheelchair user being injured and admitted to the hospital. Police Directorate 1 (North) is investigating the incident, recorded as No. 2406.
The driver, whose name has not been disclosed, was unable to brake in time to avoid the collision. The wheelchair user had entered the road from behind a parked car, placing himself in the path of the oncoming vehicle. The 87-year-old was taken to a hospital with a suspected broken leg. The accident occurred in the Märkisches Viertel district.
The investigation into the accident is ongoing, with Police Directorate 1 (North) working to determine the cause of the collision. The 87-year-old wheelchair user remains in the hospital for treatment.
