A Leading Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) Manufacturer has placed a recurring $35 million order with Amprius.
The global unmanned systems market, valued at $26.6 billion in 2024, is forecasted to reach $48.3 billion by 2030, growing at a 10.5% compound annual growth rate (CAGR). North America contributes over 45% of this global revenue, and the market is primarily driven by defense, commercial, and industrial adoption.
In a significant development, Amprius Technologies, Inc., a leading supplier of silicon anode batteries, has secured a repeat purchase order worth more than $35 million from a leading Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) manufacturer. This follows a previous $15 million order placed in February 2025.
Dr. Kang Sun, CEO of Amprius Technologies, commented on the order, stating, "This order highlights the trust built with leading drone manufacturers and the strong momentum behind the company's revenue and market share growth." He added, "As a leader in next-generation lithium-ion batteries with our Silicon Anode Platform (NYSE: AMPX), we are delivering the performance that enables customers to meet their most demanding mission profiles."
Amprius' SiCore cells are produced at scale while maintaining breakthrough performance. These cells offer industry-leading energy-to-power performance, extending flight times and mission ranges beyond conventional lithium-ion batteries. The SiCore cells produced by Amprius are engineered for the rigorous demands of UAS missions.
The growth of the UAS market, which accounts for more than 57% of the global unmanned systems market, is set to be powered by advanced high-performance batteries like those produced by Amprius. Amprius is solidifying its leadership in the future of electric aviation by combining industry-leading silicon anode batteries with established global manufacturing partners.
In addition to this latest order, Amprius has secured a strategic agreement in South Korea, expanding its global contract manufacturing network. The secured capacity of Amprius' global contract manufacturing network now exceeds 1.8 GWh.
The repeat purchase order from a leading UAS manufacturer is a testament to Amprius' technology, products, and manufacturing capabilities, uniquely positioning the company to capture a growing share of the rapidly expanding UAS market. As reported in the latest Batteries News, Amprius is poised to play a significant role in the growth of the global unmanned systems market.
