Demolition of an A100 bridge completed - Road closures lifted - A100 Motorway in Berlin: Halenseestraße East Bridge Demolished, New Ringbahn Bridge Coming
The A100 motorway in Berlin has seen significant changes recently. The section near the Funkturm interchange has reopened, while the area around the Ringbahn bridge remains reduced to a single lane. The Halenseestraße East bridge on the A100 has been completely demolished, with temporary road closures lifted.
The demolition of the Halenseestraße East bridge was a necessary step in the construction of the new Ringbahn bridge. This new bridge will be built at the same location, the Autobahndreieck Funkturm on the A100, between the Messedamm and Spandauer Damm sections. Construction is set to begin in October 2025 and is expected to be completed by summer 2027.
The reopening of the A100 near the Funkturm interchange has eased traffic congestion in the area. However, motorists are still advised to be cautious around the Ringbahn bridge, where traffic is currently reduced to a single lane.
The demolition of the old bridge and the upcoming construction of the new Ringbahn bridge are part of a larger plan to improve traffic flow and safety on the A100. While the reduced lane around the Ringbahn bridge may cause some temporary inconvenience, the long-term benefits are expected to be significant.
