Aarwangen Overhauls Aging Kindergartens with Modern School Upgrades
Aarwangen is planning major updates to its school infrastructure after years of growing demand and outdated facilities. The local council has formed a special project group to address urgent renovations and capacity issues in kindergartens and day-school spaces. Residents will have opportunities to share their views as the plans take shape.
The town’s school system currently runs five kindergarten classes, with two located at the Sonnhalde campus. A third, the Vorstadt kindergarten, is in poor condition and requires immediate renovation. Three other off-site kindergartens meet basic legal size rules but fall short of the canton’s modern spatial standards.
The project will move forward with regular public updates and chances for local input. Renovation work on the Vorstadt kindergarten and North facility is expected to begin once plans are finalised. The council’s goal is to create modern, well-equipped spaces that meet current and future needs.
