Action Hünfelder Sorgenkinder: Around 30,000 Euros to be distributed

Aktion Hünfelde Sorgenkinder has elected a new board after a long-serving member stepped down. Ingrid Austermann, who had been part of the organisation since its founding in 1977, left her position. The group supports 39 children and young people from 35 families in the former Hünfelde district.

The association held its latest elections with several familiar faces returning. Rita Fennel, Ingeborg Heitz and Karin Grosch were all re-elected as board members. Susen Trausch also continued in her role as treasurer, while Petra Richter-Rehberg remained secretary.

The only new addition was Christine Hieret, who joined the board for the first time. During the meeting, the group approved Christmas aid totalling around €30,000 for distribution. Rita Fennel stressed that every donation goes directly to families, covering costs not met by health insurance or other agencies. All funds raised by the association reach those in need, with no deductions taken for administration or overheads. The group has maintained this policy since its establishment over 45 years ago.

The newly elected board will now oversee the distribution of the €30,000 Christmas assistance. The association’s work ensures that 39 children and adolescents from 35 families receive essential support. Every donation continues to go entirely to those who need it most.
