Adani funds new AI excellence center in Baramati with Pawar’s legacy
A new artificial intelligence center has opened in Baramati, funded by industrialist Gautam Adani. Named the Sharadchandra Pawar Centre of Excellence in AI, it was inaugurated under Vidya Pratishthan. The event drew prominent figures, including members of the Pawar family and senior political leaders.
The center's launch saw speeches from key attendees. NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar praised Adani, calling his success a source of inspiration for young Indians. Adani, in turn, described Pawar as a mentor who shaped his approach to business and policy.
Adani highlighted how AI would reshape industries and customer interactions. He also credited Pawar's influence on national policies, particularly in agriculture, cooperatives, and rural development. Supriya Sule, Baramati's MP and Pawar's daughter, noted the deep ties between the two families. The event included Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar and other senior leaders. While Adani has no known political affiliations, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has previously accused the Adani Group of receiving favorable treatment from the central government.
The Sharadchandra Pawar Centre of Excellence in AI is now operational in Baramati. Funded by Adani and managed by Vidya Pratishthan, it aims to advance AI research and applications. The inauguration underscored the collaboration between business and political leaders in the region.
