### AG600: The Giant of Amphibious Aircraft

Measuring approximately the size of a Boeing 737 commercial aircraft, the AG600 boasts a length of 38.9 meters and a wingspan of 38.8 meters. This Chinese-built aircraft, China's second amphibious model after the retired SH-5 from the 1970s, promises impressive capabilities. With a maximum takeoff weight of 60 metric tons, it can reach altitudes of up to 7.6 kilometers and boasts an operational range of 4,500 kilometers. Although specific cruise speeds are not directly stated, comparable aircraft of this size operate around 500-600 km/h.

The AG600 is equipped to take off and land from both ground runways and water surfaces. In addition to its search and rescue capabilities, it can carry and save 50 people, and its firefighting abilities allow it to scoop up 12 tons of water from lakes or seas in 20 seconds and douse fires over approximately 4,000 square meters. With applications in maritime search and rescue, aerial firefighting, and potential transport and logistics roles in coastal and island regions, the AG600 represents the current state-of-the-art in large amphibious aircraft.

The AG600 received its type and production certificates in 2025, with mass production cleared and deliveries to begin as early as August 2025. So far, six aircraft have been ordered by two buyers.

The PHA-ZE 100 is expected to accommodate six to eight passengers in a club or lounge-style configuration. Elfly Group's short-haul, all-electric amphibious aircraft, Noemi, is another promising model, with more than 80 units of the Mallard Enterprises ME-1A having been preordered.
