AfD Launches Generation Deutschland Youth Wing in Lower Saxony

The Alternative for Germany (AfD) has launched its youth wing in Lower Saxony. The new branch, named Generation Deutschland, held its founding event over the weekend. Party members described the occasion as a major step forward for the organisation.

The event saw Micha Fehre, a 28-year-old Bundestag member from Hanover, elected as the first chair. Delegates also selected an 11-member state executive board and representatives for the upcoming federal congress.

During the gathering, a youth statute was formally adopted. Stephan Bothe, deputy state chair of Lower Saxony's AfD, called the day *historic* and a crucial part of the party's growth. Fehre later praised the launch as a *fantastic start*. With the Lower Saxony branch now active, the AfD youth wing has expanded to 13 regional associations across Germany. Earlier in 2023, a similar group was established in North Rhine-Westphalia, with plans for a federal association by late 2025.

The new youth wing strengthens the AfD's presence in Lower Saxony. Its leaders will now focus on building membership and preparing for the federal congress. The organisation aims to grow further before its planned national launch in 2025.
