AfD Proposes Free Parking at Fürth's Flair Center to Boost Business
The AfD city council faction in Fürth has proposed an investigation into offering free or discounted parking at the Target shopping center's underground garage. The suggestion comes amidst complaints from citizens and craft businesses about high parking fees, which some say discourage shopping at the center. The AfD faction has put forward a model similar to the Hornschuch Center, where customers receive a QR code for free or discounted parking upon purchase. Oberbürgermeister Dr. Thomas Jung has been asked to look into this possibility. Meanwhile, Contipark, which operates the garage, offers a 'Pcard' for discounted parking, including at Target, with discounts up to 50% and free service for private customers. However, management of the shopping center does not control parking fees as the garage is operated by Contipark. The city administration is now tasked with examining the feasibility of the Hornschuch Center model and identifying any obstacles. The goal is to potentially reduce parking fees at Target, addressing the concerns of citizens and businesses alike.
