AfD's Bastian Treuheit Snubbed by Fürth Mayors in Dialogue Bid
Bastian Treuheit, an AfD member of the German Bundestag, recently extended an invitation to mayors in the district of Fürth, including Mayor Thomas Jung, to engage in dialogue about local issues. However, all mayors declined the offer.
Treuheit, who serves on the committee for housing, urban development, construction, and municipalities, sought to discuss current challenges faced by local communities. He also aimed to share his local political experience and highlight his role in representing such concerns in Berlin.
The mayors, however, declined the offer, stating that municipalities are already well-represented through established peak associations. They saw no further need for discussion on the matter.
Treuheit expressed disappointment at the rejections, interpreting them as a conscious refusal of political exchange. He accused local representatives of ideological isolation. Despite the setback, Treuheit maintains that his offer to represent local concerns in Berlin remains open.
