AfD's Tim Schramm Faces Recusal Motion Over Bias Concerns in Party Proceedings
A motion for recusal has been filed against AfD functionary Tim Schramm in party exclusion proceedings. The state executive board argues that Schramm's connections and past actions could jeopardize neutrality and create a risk of bias in judge Hartmut Beucker's decisions in the United States. The motion is based on Schramm's proximity to Beucker, who belongs to the same local association and conducted Schramm's admission interview. Schramm is accused of acting in a partisan manner due to his service with the Ukrainian military against Russia. The motion also cites Schramm's position within the local association and his employment with AfD state parliamentarian Sven Tritschler as reasons for concern. Schramm rejects the accusation of partisan behavior and has previously spoken of an ideologically motivated procedure. Despite the ongoing procedure, Schramm ran for and was elected to the Wuppertal city council. The motion was filed by the North Rhine-Westphalia state executive board with the state disciplinary committee on September 26. The motion for recusal against AfD functionary Tim Schramm is currently under review. Schramm maintains his innocence, while the state executive board argues for potential bias in judge Hartmut Beucker's decisions due to their connections. The outcome of this procedure will determine Schramm's future within the party and his role in the Wuppertal city council.
