Investigations into knife attack at refugee shelter - Afghan Man, 25, Charged With Attempted Manslaughter After Roommate Stabbing
A 25-year-old Afghan man is in custody, accused of stabbing his 21-year-old roommate last Thursday. The victim, also from Afghanistan, is recovering in hospital after emergency surgery for a neck wound. The suspect faces attempted manslaughter charges and remains in pretrial detention.
The incident occurred at a shared refugee accommodation in Schwalmstadt. The suspect allegedly used a utility knife in the attack. The victim's condition initially was critical, but he has since improved and is no longer in life-threatening danger.
