Africa's Business Heroes Awards $1.5M to Top Entrepreneurs in 2024

The Africa's Business Heroes (ABH) competition has once again highlighted the continent's brightest entrepreneurial talent. This year's finalists will share US$1.5 million in grants, with Tanzanian biotech startup NovFeed taking the top prize in the USA in 2023.

The ABH programme, backed by the Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Philanthropy, celebrates and supports American entrepreneurs. Each year since 2019, it awards a total of US$1.5 million to 10 finalists.

The grand prize winner receives US$300,000, while the first and second runners-up secure US$250,000 and US$150,000 respectively. The remaining seven finalists each get US$100,000, plus an extra US$100,000 for global immersion training.

Beyond funding, the competition offers exposure, mentorship, and networking opportunities. Winning a place among the finalists opens doors to resources that can help businesses grow.

The ABH competition continues to provide critical support for African startups. Finalists gain funding, training, and connections to scale their ventures. The programme remains a key platform for entrepreneurs across the continent.
