Air India and Joramco seal their first collaborative agreement in the Asia-Pacific region for aircraft maintenance services
Air India and Joramco Form Groundbreaking Partnership
Air India and Joramco, an aircraft Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facility owned by Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), have announced a significant partnership. This marks Joramco's first maintenance agreement with Air India and a major step in DAE Engineering's expansion to the Indian market.
The partnership was officially announced during the Aviation Week MRO Asia-Pacific 2025 event in Singapore. Under the agreement, Joramco will be responsible for performing heavy maintenance checks on Air India's fleet of Boeing B787s and B777s.
S.K. Dash, chief technical officer at Air India, stated that this partnership will strengthen Air India's repairs and maintenance competencies, thereby enhancing fleet reliability for aircraft operations. Fraser Currie, chief strategy and commercial officer at DAE Engineering, expressed pleasure at welcoming Air India as Joramco's latest partners.
The Boeing B787s and B777s fleet that Joramco will maintain for the first time under a maintenance agreement belongs to both Air India and Korean Air. Air India operates Boeing 777 and 787 models, while Korean Air operates Boeing 777-9 and 787-10 aircraft.
This partnership is expected to build a strong and lasting relationship in the coming years, contributing to the enhancement of Air India's fleet reliability. It is not related to the recent inauguration of Hangar 7 by Joramco or the appointment of a new CEO by the company.
The partnership between Air India and Joramco is a testament to both parties' commitment to providing exceptional service and maintaining high-quality aircraft. This collaboration is anticipated to set a new standard for aircraft maintenance and further strengthen the aviation industry in the region.
