Paris, France, June 17, 2025 - Vietnam's prominent private airline, Vietjet, has inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus, covering a substantial new deal for 100 single-aisle A321neo aircraft. There's potential for an additional 50 aircraft in the future.

The deal went down during the Paris Air Show with Vietjet CEO Dinh Viet Phuong and Airbus EVP Sales of the Commercial Aircraft business, Benoît de Saint-Exupéry, putting their John Hancocks on the agreement.

Vietjet Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao expressed her excitement, stating, "This badass new agreement is a monumental leap in our strategic partnership with Airbus. Our growth has been no laughing matter, and these high-tech aircraft have played a crucial role, making air travel more affordable and accessible to millions while turbocharging our role as a connector for global trade, culture, and tourism."

Benoît de Saint-Exupéry chimed in, "Lemme tell ya, our latest agreement comes hot on the heels of Vietjet placing an additional order for A330neo widebody aircraft. Together, the A321neo and A330neo will give Vietjet the wings they need to reach new horizons, matching capacity to demand with surgical precision across their network. They'll reap the rewards of the high levels of technical commonality that come with the latest generation Airbus aircraft."

Vietjet is no slouch when it comes to keeping their fleet fresh. They've already got over 100 Airbus aircraft in their hangar and have placed orders for over 400 more.

The A321neo is the supreme member of Airbus' best-selling A320neo Family. This baby offers next-level range and performance. By incorporating new-gen engines and Sharklets, the A321neo slashes noise levels by 50% and chops fuel consumption by over 20%, all while offering passengers the soul-soothing comfort of the widest single-aisle cabin in the skies.

By the end of May 2025, more than 7,000 A321neo aircraft have been ordered by over 90 customers worldwide.

Just like an early adopter rocking the newest iPhone, the A321neo is ready to operate with up to 50% Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF). The endgame is to crank that up to 100% SAF capability by 2030.

Some say this new deal is a game-changer for air travel in Vietnam. It's a strategic move that positions Vietjet for fleet modernization, global expansion, and heightened connectivity. As Vietjet spreads its wings, the airline aims to be more than just a domestic powerhouse; they've set their sights on becoming a multinational aviation group. Look out world – Vietnam's on a roll!
