Airbus, a leading global aerospace company, is further cementing its dominance in Mexico's aviation sector. The company has secured a significant contract with Aeromexico, Mexico's largest airline, to supply 100 new Airbus A320neo aircraft, worth over $12 billion.

The new A320neo aircraft, known for their fuel-efficient engines and improved cabin comfort, will play a pivotal role in Aeromexico's growth and expansion plans. This order signifies a strategic move for both Airbus and Aeromexico, as the aircraft will help Aeromexico reduce its carbon emissions and modernise its fleet, thereby improving operational efficiency.

Delivery of the first A320neo aircraft to Aeromexico is scheduled for 2023. The new aircraft will replace Aeromexico's older Airbus A320ceo aircraft, marking a step forward in technological advancement for the airline.

Airbus' presence in Mexico extends beyond commercial aviation. The company manages the majority of the in-service commercial aircraft, military aircraft, and helicopter fleets in Mexico. As a result, Airbus is the provider of the majority of these aircraft, contributing to its continued dominance in the Mexican aviation market.

Mexico's aerospace market is experiencing rapid growth, with the market expected to double its value to approximately USD 22.7 billion by 2029. This growth is driven by innovation and increasing global demand, factors that benefit major aerospace players like Airbus.

Airbus' dominance in the corporate jet market in Mexico is evident, with 249 large jets in operation. The company's significant presence in Mexico's aviation industry is not a recent development, as Airbus has been operating in the country for over four decades.

The new A320neo aircraft order is a testament to Airbus' strong and growing footprint in Mexico's aerospace sector, notably in corporate aviation and aerospace manufacturing. Given Mexico’s emergence as a regional aerospace manufacturing leader and the expected market expansion, Airbus’ role is likely to grow further alongside Mexico’s aviation industry developments.

Airbus and Aeromexico have a long-standing partnership, with Aeromexico operating an all-Airbus fleet. This new order underscores the confidence that both parties have in each other and in Airbus' products, as they navigate the ever-evolving landscape of the aviation industry.

The strategic move of supplying 100 new Airbus A320neo aircraft to Aeromexico is not only significant for Aeromexico's growth and expansion plans but also underscores Airbus' dominance in the finance sector, given the worth of over $12 billion for these aircraft. Towards Mexico's aviation industry, Airbus' presence is not confined to the commercial aviation sector; its aerospace manufacturing also contributes to its role as the provider of the majority of the aircraft, including corporate jets, in the Mexican aerospace market, indicative of its growing footprint in this sector as Mexico emerges as a regional aerospace manufacturing leader.
