AerFin Acquires Second Boeing 777-300ER, Strengthening Supply Chains and Supporting Airline Customers

AerFin, a leading aircraft asset management company, has announced the acquisition of a second Boeing 777-300ER previously operated by Japan Airlines. This marks AerFin's third acquisition of this aircraft type, reaffirming their commitment to addressing the rising global demand for this aircraft, particularly the 777-300ER.

The 777-300ER, one of the most widely used and dependable variants in service, is not expected to retire at the same pace as the older 777-200 or 777-300 variants. Recognised as a different proposition compared to many legacy 777 aircraft, the 777-300ER has proven itself to be a reliable and efficient workhorse.

The disassembled aircraft will be processed in the United States, with the refurbished material supporting AerFin's extensive global customer base. AerFin collaborates with Lufthansa Technik as their partner company in the project cooperation.

Auvinash Narayen, Chief Investment Officer at AerFin, stated that this acquisition underlines the company's long-term commitment to supporting airline customers in the Asia Pacific region. Narayen emphasised that this acquisition is a commitment to supporting airline customers in the region, as well as strengthening the supply chains of airlines operating the Boeing 777-300ER.

Narayen also mentioned that by extending the operational life of high-value assets like the 777-300ER, AerFin is helping airlines to reduce their overall costs. This is particularly important for improving resilience and reliability in the industry. The acquisition will further contribute to the ongoing availability of spare parts for the Boeing 777-300ER.

The collaboration on this project between AerFin and its partners will continue, with the components of the aircraft being refurbished for high-quality serviceable material. Narayen stated that by extending the operational life of high-value assets, AerFin is helping airlines to reduce their overall costs, making this acquisition a significant step forward in supporting the airline industry.
