Airline Company Tap Air Portugal Unveils Expanded In-Cabin Baggage Storage Compartments in Upgraded Cabins
TAP Air Portugal has taken a significant step forward in its fleet modernisation with the introduction of the new Airspace cabins on its A321neo aircraft. The first A321neo aircraft equipped with these new cabin interiors performed its inaugural flight between Lisbon and Warsaw on September 12, 2025.
The new Airspace cabins offer a more modern and sleek aesthetic compared to previous models. One of the most notable changes is the new design for the overhead bins, which now allow for vertical loading of eight bags instead of five per bin, providing 37% more volume.
In the business class cabin, passengers can enjoy new seats with improved comfort and functionality. TAP Air Portugal has also introduced a premium economy class with enhanced comfort and service, offering an attractive option for travellers seeking a step up from economy class.
The economy class seats offer more legroom compared to previous models, ensuring a more comfortable journey for all passengers. The new Airspace cabins also feature a redesigned galley and lavatory area, as well as improved inflight entertainment systems.
TAP Air Portugal was the first airline to receive the Airbus A321neo equipped with the new Airspace cabin, and the airline aims to acquire 20 aircraft with these new cabin interiors by 2029, gradually integrating them into its fleet.
This modernisation initiative is part of TAP Air Portugal's ongoing commitment to providing its passengers with the best possible travel experience. With the new Airspace cabins on the A321neo aircraft, the airline is set to offer a more comfortable, modern, and enjoyable journey for its passengers.
