Airline giant, Turkish Airlines, transports approximately 51.2 million travelers over the course of seven months

Turkish Airline's passenger count soared to 51.24 million from January to July 2025, registering a 4.7% growth compared to the same time frame in the previous year. The airline made this announcement in a statement released to Borsa Istanbul on August 7.

Turkish Airlines Reports Growth and Expansion

Turkish Airlines, one of the world's leading carriers, has reported impressive growth in its operations during the first seven months of 2025. The airline transported a total of 51.24 million passengers, marking a 4.7% increase from the same period in 2024.

International passenger traffic saw a significant boost, rising by 6.8% year-on-year, with over 33 million passengers. July 2025 was particularly noteworthy, as the airline transported over 9 million passengers, an 8.4% increase compared to July 2024. The domestic passenger numbers also increased, with July 2025 seeing a 7.8% climb to 3.37 million passengers.

The airline's expansion is not limited to passenger traffic. As of the end of July 2025, Turkish Airlines operated a fleet of 491 aircraft, an increase from 458 in the same period last year. This expansion has allowed the airline to increase its seat capacity by 6.7% year-on-year, reaching 101,385 seats.

Cargo and mail volumes also saw an uptick, increasing by 4.4% during January-July 2025, reaching 1.21 million tons.

Turkish Airlines' headquarters, Türkiye, serves as a strategic hub for the airline's extensive global network. As of August 2025, the airline serves several hundred destinations worldwide from Istanbul, with a focus on major global hubs in Europe, the Middle East, North America, Asia, and Africa.

The airline's route network continues to evolve, with new and resumed flights being a common occurrence. Notable additions include the restart of flights to Aleppo, Syria, marking the return of service to the Syrian market for the first time since 2012.

The busiest routes for Turkish Airlines are Istanbul to London, Paris, Dubai, New York, Amsterdam, Milan, Madrid, Zurich, and Barcelona. The airline operates daily flights from Istanbul to major US airports such as Newark and New York JFK, reflecting its strong transatlantic network.
