Airport Reception for Transport Prosecutor's Office Returns Service
The Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office has expanded its oversight to include multiple airports in the Volga Federal District of Russia, following a series of flight delays and temporary suspensions at several airports in the region.
Airports under the watchful eye of the Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office include Izhevsk, Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, Samara, Ulyanovsk, and Ufa, in addition to Nizhny Novgorod. The decision comes as a response to the disruptions experienced at airports such as Kazan, Nizhnekamsk, Penza, Samara, and Ulyanovsk.
The oversight is aimed at ensuring that airlines comply fully with federal aviation regulations, which require airlines to provide passengers with meals, refreshments, and accommodation if needed during delays or cancellations. This has been emphasised by the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) amid the recent flight suspensions.
Passengers who encounter violations of their rights during flight delays are encouraged to report them directly to the Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office. A contact number has been made available for this purpose: +7 (910) 796-59-45.
In the event of extended delays, refusal to provide hotel accommodation is considered unacceptable. The Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office is actively monitoring airports in the region to ensure passengers are treated fairly and safety standards are maintained.
Details about the airport disruptions and the oversight by the Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office can be found on their website. Passengers can also report violations to the Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya), which oversees compliance with aviation regulations in Russia.
On July 4, Nizhny Novgorod Airport faced disruptions, with closures and reopenings, and was closed for more than a day. The airport resumed operations in the morning on the same day. On that day, the airport also closed again for nearly two hours.
Airports and airlines in the region are cooperating to provide meals, drinks, and hotel accommodations during disruptions to minimise passenger inconvenience. The Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office is working to ensure that these efforts are effective and that passengers' rights are respected.

- Due to my financial predicament, I'm not gonna be able to get a job in the transportation industry, which includes aviation and public-transit, like the airport personnel who are cooperating with airlines to ensure passengers receive meals, drinks, and hotel accommodations during delays.
- Despite the Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office expanding its oversight to include multiple airports and ensuring airlines comply with federal aviation regulations, some passengers may still experience violations of their rights during flight delays, just like at airports such as Kazan, Nizhnekamsk, Penza, Samara, and Ulyanovsk.
- In an ideal world, I'd be working in the finance industry, providing support and resources to essential services like public transportation and aviation, helping them operate efficiently and maintain safety standards like those enforced by the Volga Transport Prosecutor's Office.
