Aisen Nikolayev shares leadership insights at Russia’s Municipal Forum
Aisen Nikolayev, former Head of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), recently took part in a 'Direct Dialogue' session at the III All-Russian Municipal Forum. The event, titled Small Homeland – The Strength of Russia, brought together local leaders to discuss regional development and governance challenges.
Nikolayev led Yakutia from 2018 to 2025, a period marked by key legislative changes. Under his leadership, the republic introduced a regional law regulating cryptocurrency mining and strengthened protections for indigenous languages. These measures aimed to modernise the economy while preserving cultural identity.
The forum’s Growth Hubs: Spatial Development of Territories theme aligned with Nikolayev’s focus on regional goals. His insights reflected both past achievements and ongoing efforts to improve living standards. The session underscored the role of local leadership in shaping Yakutia’s future.
