Alexandria’s Child Protection Team Wins Virginia’s Top Honor for 2025
In 2025, the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) from the Center for Alexandria’s Children received a top state award for their work. The Children’s Advocacy Centers of Virginia (CACVA) named them MDT of the Year. The honour recognises their dedication to supporting vulnerable children in the community.
The award was presented at the Virginia Crimes Against Children Conference in Virginia Beach. Commonwealth’s Attorney Bryan Porter thanked the team for their commitment to local families. Mayor Alyia Gaskins also praised their efforts in protecting Alexandria’s children.
The MDT’s award highlights their collaborative approach to child protection.
