Almaty-1 railway station is undergoing a major modernisation project aimed at preserving its historic 1974 design. Mayor Darhan Satybaldy recently visited the site to review progress and stress the need for timely completion and high-quality workmanship.

The renovation, led by Kazakhstan Temir Zholy (Kazakhstan Railways), focuses on upgrading the station without altering its original footprint. Modern, vandal-resistant materials are being installed to improve durability while maintaining the building’s character.
