Altai’s New Year gifts for children split by funding sources and family needs

New Year’s gifts for children in Altai Territory will be distributed through different funding sources this year. While some groups receive support from regional or local budgets, others will rely on sponsorships. The programme covers various categories, including children from military families and those with disabilities.

The Governor of Altai Territory will personally fund gifts for all pupils in grades 1–4. These presents will be handed out during school holiday celebrations.

Social protection agencies will manage the distribution of gifts to preschoolers and students in grades 5–11 from families involved in the special military operation. However, no regional budget has been allocated for this purpose.

For children with disabilities, as well as those in foster care or large families, local authorities will use municipal funds or seek sponsorships. All gifts will be distributed at integrated social service centres across the region.

The distribution process varies depending on the child’s category. While younger primary school students receive gifts from the governor, older children from military families will get theirs through social services. No regional funding has been set aside for most groups, leaving local budgets and sponsors to cover the costs.
