Amazon Significantly Increases Seasonal Staff - Amazon hires 3,000 more seasonal workers in Germany for holiday rush

Amazon has expanded its seasonal workforce in Germany by 3,000 compared to last year. The company now employs around 12,000 temporary staff to handle rising demand during the holiday period. This growth comes alongside new logistics centres in Lahntal and Viernheim, boosting operational capacity.

The extra workers began contracts in October and November, with most set to stay until the end of December. Their roles focus on sorting and processing parcels at logistics hubs, rather than delivering packages. Amazon’s permanent workforce in Germany stands at around 40,000, supporting a delivery network that handles roughly five billion parcels annually.

Amazon’s seasonal hiring surge reflects its growing logistics needs. The additional staff will support operations at expanded facilities, ensuring smoother handling of holiday orders. The company’s dominance in both delivery and online retail shows no signs of slowing.
