Ambulance Collision in Berlin Injures Drivers, Disrupts Emergency Services
An ambulance on an emergency callout in Berlin's Weißensee district was involved in a collision with a Volkswagen, injuring both drivers and a paramedic. The incident occurred at the junction of Piesporter Straße and Bitburger Straße around 1:30 p.m. on November 4, 2025, with Incident No. 0324 logged.
An 84-year-old man driving a Volkswagen failed to notice the approaching ambulance with its lights and sirens activated. As he turned left towards Bitburger Straße, his car collided with the ambulance. The impact was severe enough to render the ambulance undriveable and caused it to strike a parked truck. Despite the collision, the 78-year-old patient being transported to the hospital remained unharmed. A second emergency vehicle took over the transport of the patient.
The collision resulted in injuries to the ambulance driver, the paramedic, and the 84-year-old driver. All three were taken to the hospital for treatment. The Traffic Collision Investigation Unit of Police Directorate 1 (North) is currently handling further inquiries into the incident.
The collision between the emergency vehicle and the Volkswagen on Piesporter Straße in Weißensee, Berlin, has led to multiple injuries and disruptions in emergency services. The police are continuing their investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
