Amprion Granted Access to Private Land for Critical Power Line Upgrades
A new general tolerance order will allow grid operator Amprion to access private properties for major infrastructure projects. The ruling, issued by the Münster Regional Council, takes effect on 2 March 2026. It covers 47 specific plots needed for power line upgrades and expansions in the region.
The order was finalised in February 2026 and lists exact parcel numbers for the affected land. These properties are required for Amprion's Ultranet projects—including SuedLink and SuedOstLink—as well as the rerouting of the 380-kV line between Hamm and Münster.
Under the tolerance order, Amprion can enter designated sites without the owners' permission to carry out surveys and preparatory work. The full details, including the listed parcels, will appear in the Official Gazette of the Münster Regional Council on 6 February 2026. A PDF of the publication is available for download on the council's website.
The ruling enables Amprion to move forward with critical energy infrastructure work. Landowners will have no legal grounds to block access once the order is active. The projects aim to strengthen Germany's high-voltage grid as part of broader energy transition plans.
