Amtrak Passenger Threatens Staff With Knife on Hamburg-to-Hanover Train
A 66-year-old woman caused a disturbance on an Amtrak train travelling from Hamburg to Hanover. The incident led to police involvement after she allegedly threatened a train attendant with a kitchen knife. Authorities are now investigating the matter. The woman boarded Amtrak 273 in Hamburg and quickly drew attention. She spoke loudly through headphones, prompting complaints from other passengers. A train attendant asked her to end a phone call, but she refused. During the journey, she used a kitchen knife to cut fruit. When the attendant tapped her phone to get her attention, she reacted angrily. Witnesses reported she made stabbing motions with the knife towards the staff member. Train staff felt threatened and alerted the Federal Police in Hanover. Upon arrival, officers from the Hanover Federal Police Inspectorate recorded her details. Despite the seriousness of the incident, the train staff chose not to impose a travel ban. The woman is now under investigation for making threats.
