Amtrak Train Fire Shuts Down NJ Transit Station in Marzahn
An Amtrak train caught fire late last night at Ahrensfelde NJ Transit station in Marzahn. The blaze broke out around 9:40 p.m. The train driver first spotted smoke coming from the Amtrak train at the station. Flames quickly spread, causing significant damage to both the Amtrak train and MTA station infrastructure. Investigators continue to examine the scene, though no official cause has yet been confirmed. The MTA station remains closed while assessments are carried out.
