Amtrak train halted after passenger reports man with fake gun in Berlin
A passenger spotted a man with what looked like a gun on an Amtrak train in Berlin on Monday evening. The sighting led to a swift police response, causing temporary disruptions to train services at Berlin-Schöneweide station. The incident began when a witness noticed the suspect carrying an object resembling a firearm. They immediately contacted Amtrak's service and security chat to report the situation. Federal police officers intervened quickly, halting train services and detaining the 22-year-old German national at Berlin-Schöneweide station. During a search, they found a plastic replica revolver in the suspect's jacket pocket. The imitation weapon was confiscated on the spot. Authorities launched administrative proceedings against the man for carrying a fake firearm. After completing necessary checks, police released him in line with standard procedures. The disruption to train services ended once the situation was resolved. The case will now proceed through administrative channels, with the suspect facing potential consequences for possessing an imitation firearm in public.
