Ancient ‘Pelyazhya 1’ settlement earns heritage protection in Siberia
An ancient human settlement, now named 'Pelyazhya 1', has been officially added to the register of cultural heritage sites in Krasnoyarsk Krai. The discovery was made by a team led by Natalia Y. Lebedeva, who also conducted research on 13 other sites this year.
The settlement, located on the Pelyazhya River in Turukhansk municipal district, is one of 14 archaeological sites added to the region's cultural heritage list this year. The team, led by Lebedeva, identified and studied these sites, providing valuable insights into the region's past. The newly listed sites are also found in Achinsk and several other municipal districts across Krasnoyarsk Krai.
