Ander Art Festival Returns as Zero-Waste Celebration of Diversity
The Ander Art Festival, Munich's annual celebration of cultural diversity, returns to Odeonsplatz on the last Saturday of September. This year's event, held on the second Oktoberfest Saturday, is proud to be a zero-waste affair, with Mayor Dieter Reiter as its patron. The festival, initiated by Karina, has been a staple in Munich since 1997. It's organised by the Cultural Referate, Migration Council, and Intercultural Affairs Office. This year, it introduces mobile induction loops to ensure accessibility for those with hearing impairments. Food lovers can indulge in international cuisine, prepared by the Community Kitchen using rescued food. The kitchen's innovative approach helps reduce food waste while offering a variety of flavours from around the world. The Ander Art Festival, now in its 25th year, continues to promote unity and sustainability. With its commitment to zero waste, rescued food, and accessibility, it's a beacon of Munich's progressive spirit.
