Andre Coleman reclaims Millwood school board seat in tight special election

Andre Coleman has won a seat on the Millwood Public Schools board, returning to the role after a brief absence. His election fills the vacancy left by longtime incumbent Marvin Provo, who resigned earlier this year. Coleman will now represent District 5, the smallest area in the school system.

The special election took place on February 15, 2023, after Provo stepped down due to health concerns. Coleman secured 51.22% of the vote, beating two opponents: Cartelyou Edwards Sr. and Chimere Grant.

Coleman’s return to the school board follows a period of political shifts. He now represents a district with clear boundaries and a small but active community. The special election ensures District 5 has a voice on the board once again.
