André Ventura’s false claim about Jorge Pinto’s political past debunked
A recent claim by André Ventura about Jorge Pinto’s political past has been proven false. Ventura stated that Pinto was an active member of the Socialist Party during José Sócrates’ time as Environment Minister. Records show this could not have happened.
José Sócrates served as Environment Minister from 1999 to 2002. During those years, Jorge Pinto was between 11 and 14 years old. He could not have been a party member at that age.
The facts confirm that Jorge Pinto was not a Socialist Party member while Sócrates was Environment Minister. His membership started at 18, well after the period in question. Ventura’s statement has no basis in reality.
