Andreas Gisbertz Elected New Spokesman for Viersen District Mayors
Andreas Gisbertz, mayor of Schwalmtal, has taken on a new role as the spokesman for the mayors in the Viersen district. His election came after Karl-Heinz Wassong stepped down from the position on November 1. The decision was made during a meeting of local leaders in Nettetal on November 28.
The mayors of Viersen district gathered in Nettetal to choose a successor for Wassong. Gisbertz secured the role, receiving support from his colleagues. He thanked them for their confidence and immediately highlighted key challenges ahead.
Gisbertz officially began his term as spokesman on November 28. His priorities include addressing funding gaps and representing municipal needs more forcefully. The change in leadership follows Wassong’s resignation at the start of the month.
